I have been interested for some time in furnishing a room in my home "รก la Moroc". If I was in Marrakech, I'd talk to a local carpenter who would come to measure my room and then make banquettes to fit it. Probably I'd negotiate with a cushion maker to select upholstery fabric for the cushions and pillows. I know I'd want mine stuffed with wool. Then I'd go around the corner to the metalworkers souk to choose a couple of big hammered platters to set up on table stands in the corners of my banquette-lined room. I'd hand a couple of lamps, put some rugs on the floor and voila!
Here in San Francisco, not so easy. Lamps are easy enough to find online, as are rugs...but do any of you know of a carpenter who could build me decent banquettes?
