I AM LEAVING THIS FRIDAY TO MOROCCO AND I BOOKED A HOTEL FOR TWO DAYS AT THE IBIS IN CASABLANCA. BUT I FELT IS REALLY QUITE SIMPLE INSIDE. I WILL BE IN MOROCCO FOR 10 DAYS AND FOR THE REST OF MY TRIP I WOULD LIKE TO FIND SOMETHING BRIGHTER AND MORE FULL OF LIFE AND MORE OF THE MOROCCAN STYLE I DON'T KNOW OF ANY GOOD HOTELS SO I WOULD LOVE SOME HELP IN FINDING ONE. I WILL BE IN CASABLANCA THEN I WILL GO TO MARRAKESH FOR A FEW DAYS THEN OFF TO RABAT TO MEET THE PARENTS OF MY LOVE. I KNOW I KNOW I COULD JUST BE A FOOL IN LOVE BUT IF SO THAT'S WHAT I AM LOL SO INSTEAD OF STRESSIN ABOUT THE MEETING I AM FOCUSING ON HAVING THE BEST TIME I CAN WHILE I AM THERE.
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!

When you get to Marrakech, come to Hotel Ali. It is in the middle of Jema Fna. You can ask any taxi driver to take you there, they all know where it's at. It is cheap and you will probably like it. Plus, I happen to work there, and would like to meet you. I'll try to help you out as much as I can. :)

Just ask for me! I hope to see you soon, insha'allaah.

    Kathryn,

There are lots and lots of hotels, riads, and hostels (auberge) to be found in any town in Morocco. We never booked anything ahead. Instead, we just walked around and found something or asked for a recommendation. Most of the places listed in Lonely Planet were always booked, but there is always another hotel or riad just around the corner from the LP recommendation that was equally as nice, affordable, and friendly. We also always asked to see the rooms before we committed and the staff was always very gracious in fulfilling our request.

If you can handle not having a reservation then give that a try. Of course, in the high season I would recommend booking ahead. Also, the earlier in the day that you arrive the better your chance of finding a vacancy.

Good luck and have a fantastic trip!
