Wed, May 23, 2007 - 10:08 AMPeace means open borders, chubby laughing children, women who have never been battered or threatened, men who don't have to fear for the lives of their sons.
Peace means absence of fear. -

what Danise said~!!!
and...
peace to me is the Din of Islam~ As-Salaam~
peace is watching the sunset from Asilah in the company of loved ones~
sharing a blend and some mint tea~ all calm, tranquil, and serene. ~Alhamdullilah~
peace is the time between fajr and sunrise~
peace is all safe and sound~ fed, clothed, and sheltered.
peace is knowing that Allah is real. -

Re: What does peace mean to you?
Thu, May 24, 2007 - 7:15 PMYes that's true, and as for me ..peace, as I perceive it, is an ongoing process which should remain with each and every individual at all times. I do not think that peace is something that one achieves like anyone would achieve success.
Rather I think peace is more similar to the sun. In other words, it is something no one can do without. Peace is something which should always be part of us.
And another idea...... peace is sitting around a fire in the forest during twilight, listening to the silence of the woods, and looking out over a lake and seeing dots of mist floating above it. that's absolute peace. : - )

Re: What does peace mean to you?
Fri, June 15, 2007 - 1:21 AMpeace, whether personal or universal, is, for me, an experiential sense of oneness with self, Self, and community, local or worldwide ...
peace does not always come wrapped in warm and fuzzy feelings, imo ... it is possible to be at peace even in the midst of chaos ...
may peace be with you, a traditional Christian greeting, is, for me, one of the most significant vestiges of my ancestral faith ...
may peace be with you always

Re: What does peace mean to you?
Wed, June 20, 2007 - 6:14 PMbeyond the precise definition(s) that we could have in dictionaries, i think that peace is comparable to perfection, in the way that they are
both concepts that we try to apply on all different levels and contexts, from the spiritual ones (through religion,or all what we can qualify as a religion...), to the material one, passing by the emotional context too,and also the intellectual(this one could be discussed).....
seen from that angle ,peace could be that ideal we are all chasing,in an endless process, the utopia that will never be reached and owned totally, but just staying on the road that leads to it can elevate the one's self.......
may peace and joyce surround all.....

Re: What does peace mean to you?
Sat, June 28, 2008 - 3:10 PMIt is respecting each other and each others right to exist in this world. It is working together and collaborating for the common good of all. it is healthy people, safe babies and safe women. It is being able to lay your head down at night and rest easy knowing that no malice or harm will come to you during the night. It is sitting with your friends of all stripes in the evening watching the sunset and marvelling at Gods creations. It is something we have to nurture and tend to and we cannot let it die. -
